    Collaboration for Street Cats

Cruz Azul Murcia is collaborating with cat charity, Dejando Huella, as part of their ongoing campaign to manage street cats in a humane and caring way. Dejando Huella is a small group of volunteers taking care of cat colonies and injured and abandoned cats in the Torre Pacheco area. Dejando Huella started with just five volunteers covering a very wide area. The Association now co-ordinates a team of around 25 authorised volunteer managers for their feline colonies in different areas and districts throughout the Municipality. Working closely with Dejando Huella, they help manage and feed these colonies with food provided by the Association, keeping those neighbourhoods clean and healthy. They…

Farah set about making his life as comfortable as possible, while she raised funds for his treatment. Cruz Azul Murcia is working with FaraH and Petlovers Veterinarian Clinic in Sucina, to get Ozzy as well as possible. He’s a lovely, gentle dog, with lots of character and determination, and he…

    Little Lola

Little Lola was wandering the streets of Los Alcázares until some very kind people took her to the vet, who cleaned her of fleas and ticks, promising to try to re-home her, so they helped by taking Lola home until a new home could be found for her. To their surprise, one morning, Lola gave birth to 5 puppies and they knew they would need to keep her for at least 6 weeks. The vet managed to find homes for the puppies but not for Lola! She is about 16 months old and an absolute darling. Her rescuers cannot keep her: one is working full-time and his partner is frequently…

    Helping Albert

Little Albert is about 3 months old and was found wandering in the road, absolutely covered in ticks. Luckily for him, he was rescued by Los Infiernos Perrera and was taken straight to the vet. He was given a thorough check and an injection to rid him of those nasty, harmful ticks. The ticks really taken their toll on Albert and he was very thin and weak, so a kind LIPS (Los Infiernos Perrera Supporters) volunteer took him home to give him some special care. Albert is now tick-free (but with some damage to his little ears) and is eating (he loves chicken), but he is not out of the…
