Barney is so lucky to have been rescued from the street. He was in a very bad way, unable to eat because of mouth problems and losing his fur through poor nutrition.Cruz Azul and Centro Veterinario Provet helped to make him better and Graham Cheal at Del Monte Cat Refuge has kindly adopted him so that he has a furever home. Unfortunately, Barney has been diagnosed with FIV (the feline version of AIDS) and cannot mix with Graham’s other cats, so we need to build Barney a log cabin to keep him happy and comfortable for the rest of his life. Ozzy Stays Afloat
Ozzy looked sadly on as his fellow canines kept cool in the pool. With his paralysis, it wasn’t possible for him to join in, but his rescuer was determined that he should enjoy life to the full and put out a plea for a buoyancy jacket so that he could keep cool during the searing heat and have fun with his buddies. Ozzy has his buoyancy jacket and is raring to go! A kind member of the public saw her plea and Ozzy is now geared up to keep cool and enjoy some gentle physiotherapy. Ozzy’s Wheels
Ozzy was knocked down by a car and left to die of his horrific injuries by the roadside. He had been lying there, in pain and with no food and drink, for about a week. Thankfully, Farah found him in time and rushed him to the vet. Ozzy had various injuries, but the most serious one was his broken back. Farah set about making his life as comfortable as possible, while she raised funds for his treatment. Rock My Soul is a Huge Hit
Cruz Azul’s fundraising event ‘Rock My Soul’ proved a huge hit, raising 1532.50€ for the charity, which helps with vet bills for pet owners on low incomes and works with local communities to control feral cat colonies in a humane way. The owners of The New Arches in Los Alcázares provided the venue for the event, which was organised by John “J. J. Soulman” whose friends in the music business were keen to take part. Cruz Azul Walks on the Bark Side Again
Cruz Azul supporters gathered with their dogs on the promenade in Santiago de la Ribera on Sunday, 28 September for their second ‘Walk on the Bark Side’. On arrival, many of the roads in Santiago de la Ribera had been closed, due to a half-marathon, but the determined walkers and barkers still managed to arrive in good time at the start line. Despite heavy, dark clouds and the threat of thunderstorms, the weather was kind and nobody got wet on the 3 kilometer walk along the prom. Cruz Azul is Squeaky Clean!
Cruz Azul Murcia was treated to a special event to raise funds by local businesses on Wednesday, 13 August. Clean Me car wash and Airpark Murcia, based on the Oasis Boulevard, got together to raise awareness of the charity by donating 20% of all sales on the day. They were joined by The Mobile Nail Spa and Avalon who also donated to the charity.
