We Open in San Pedro

Cruz Azul Murcia opened the doors of their second shop in San Pedro del Pinatar on Friday, 24 October, just eleven months after opening their first shop in San Javier. Val Latham, from Cake Magic, arrived to welcome her new neighbours with a fabulous cake, decorated with the Cruz Azul logo and lots of pets, expertly crafted in fondant icing. “It was a shame to cut into such a work of art” commented President, Lyn Baines, “but it was fitting to offer a slice and a glass of Cava to our supporters and customers.” Val also cut the ceremonial ribbon, wishing Cruz Azul Murcia success in their new venture and declaring the new shop open.

The Cake Magic shop is located close by at Avenida del Doctor Artero Guirao 89 and is open for traditional afternoon teas, served on pretty bone china. They also offer celebration cakes, specializing in wedding cakes. A new sugarcraft/cake decorating craft school is now available and details can be found on their Facebook page: Cruz Azul volunteer, Emmanuel Vadon, brought along his vintage Ford Galaxy, to add to the festivities and it caused quite a stir with the locals.

Lyn thanked the Cruz Azul team of volunteers who had pulled out all the stops to get the new shop open in time. The shop is ideally situated on the main avenue into San Pedro del Pinatar, opposite the Confiteria Alicia, with ample parking at the back. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 10.00 until 14.00 and volunteers are looking forward to welcoming new customers with donations or to browse the new premises.

“The majority of our fundraising is based upon our retail outlets” commented Sue Thomason, Cruz Azul Vice President. “We always welcome donations of furniture, clothes, accessories, household items, etc., and we offer a free collection service for larger items; just call 693 017 616 and we will arrange it for you.” The shop is also conveniently located for those who visit the San Pedro Monday market, which runs to the back of the shop. Cruz Azul is pleased to welcome Shop Managers Denise Standen and Ian Roberts to the fold.
